Powering the two-person GP1300R is Yamaha's 1296cc technologically advanced marine engine.  Featuring electronic fuel injection, this motor is particularly quiet and emission efficient. Coupled to the powerplant is a Yamaha high-pressure jet pump that maximizes hook-up and thrust throughout the entire powerband, and decreases noisy vibrations and cavitation. Under the waterline is a high-strength, lightweight deep-V hull that delivers excellent handling in choppy water as well as glassy conditions.  Adding to the craft's precise handling is an adjustable trim control and adjustable sponsons that allow the rider to tune the GP1300R to their individual preferences.
